A big thank you to Danum Academy in Doncaster, who hosted us for the first time before Christmas, as we delivered valuable first aid training to Year 9 students.
The students, who learned how to perform CPR and correctly use a defibrillator, were an absolute pleasure to work with and left us some fantastic feedback:
“Liked it. Was really fun.” – Freya
“Really enjoyed it.” – Oliver
“Enjoyed the CPR a lot.” – Charlie
“Fun, enjoyed it. Learnt how to do chest compressions correctly and how to use a defib.” – Darcie
“I now know what to do. Educational & necessary.” – LP
“Learned about defibrillator locations. Really enjoyable and hands-on. 10/10.” S
“We enjoyed being involved in real-life situations and learning something vital. It was educational but also made fun.” T
Staff were just as complimentary, with Mr Stone, Science teacher, commenting: “I thought the students really enjoyed the opportunity of working with manikins without being judged. They listened and took part with enthusiasm”, while Mr Pepper added: “Entertaining delivery, everybody engaged, very informative. An excellent session by Matt.”
Ms Smith-Howell, LRC Coordinator, said, “Brilliant engagement of students. All students enjoyed the visit and they all participated. Matt’s delivery was ideal – timing, pace, quality. Just right to keep students focused and interested. Made it really enjoyable.” Linda, Hard of Hearing teacher, finished off by saying, “Clear instructional delivery that engaged all pupils while teaching them valuable lifesaving skills. Lots of opportunities for pupils to be hands on and try skills, confirm understanding. They loved it. Thanks Sam.”
Thank you for having us, Danum, and we’ll see you soon!
